Church Operations and Communications Manager

The Church Operations and Communications Manager supports the mission and goals of FUSF, a Vibrant, Energetic, and liberal congregation, by providing leadership and professional expertise to a broad variety of functions necessary for the effective planning and day-to-day operation of the church. The incumbent has broad responsibilities across the entire operation. Reporting to the Minister, the Church Operations and Communications Manager works with other staff, church officers, boards, committees/teams, and volunteer leaders in all facets of this process from visioning to implementation.

The Church Operations and Communication Manager’s primary roles encompass:
Internal Communications including
o handling email, phone and in person inquiries,
o manage and update communication tools and serve as the primary resource for congregants using these tools including Google G-Suite, fusf.org email addresses, Breeze database and Mailchimp,
o Coordinate, edit, update, create, and deliver the: Google calendar, and E-Newsletter,
o supporting the internal congregation and operations structure and being the initial entrance point into the church.
External Communications responsible for our Website, and social media campaign execution and administration.
Church Office Management including Clerical Support
Bookkeeping including account updating and reconciliation via QuickBooks
Support Building and Facilities Management, including custodial supervision.

Must possess excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills; be technically proficient with many office and communication tools, be independent, self-motivated, and reliable, be well organized, detail oriented and able to multitask all with a friendly smile.

The position has a competitive salary, generous benefits, and 4 weeks of paid vacation during the summer.

MetroWest Visitors Bureau Announces Mini Grant Program

The MetroWest Visitors Bureau (MWVB) announced today that their annual mini grant program is now accepting applications. Designed for marketing projects that will promote tourism in MetroWest, mini grants are available for funds up to $5,000 each. The MWVB will consider applications for projects devoted to marketing a MetroWest event, attraction, business, service, or cultural or recreational offering. 

The applicant does not need to be a 501(c)3 charitable organization, but must be based in one of the 19 towns that comprise MetroWest or be devoted to attracting potential visitors to those 19 towns.

Eligible projects include brochures, print or online advertising, social media, websites, apps, and other print materials. The marketing project must be targeted, at least partially, at potential visitors who live more than 50 miles from the event or business location. 

Grant applications can be submitted at www.bit.ly/minigrant2022 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis from now until April 1. Awarded grant funds must be spent prior to June 30, 2022.

VANN - Volunteer Action Nonprofit Network - Feb 2

Via the MetroWest Nonprofit Network:

"Join our newest affinity group for Volunteer Leaders who are supporting volunteer efforts in their nonprofit organizations. VANN - Volunteer Action Nonprofit Network - will be a place to share resources, exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and brainstorm solutions. 
Each month will focus on a specific topic with plenty of opportunities for group discussion. Polly Mendoza, former Executive Director of Neighbor Brigade and lifelong volunteer and nonprofit leader will be the group facilitator. 
The VANN group will meet on the first Wednesday of every month. 
February Topic: The Planning and Development Side of Volunteer Programs: Setting a strong framework for (re)structuring your volunteer program.

Franklin is a caring community. It has been known to come out, show up, support when needed. Time, and time again.

#Franklin community action now (CAN)

Members of the Franklin Area Nonprofit Network (FANN) need to take advantage of this to accomplish what each organization is focused on. The FANN will help in that effort.
  1. When community action is needed, your organization can plan accordingly. Devise whatever is required for fund raising, collection, pick up, etc.
  2. As you communicate to your followers, send the event or action to the FANN. We'll put it on the calendar
  3. Mark your social media communications with the hashtag #FranklinCAN(fill in the blanks)
  4. The FANN and other members can share the hashtag to help spread the word on your effort
So easy!

You do what you need to do and with the #FranklinCAN(fill in the blanks) hashtag, the FANN can help spread the word to make your event or effort more successful.
